Brähler System Immune to RF Interference - July 2006

Since the introduction of wireless communications, devices such as laptops, or more critically mobile telephones, have interfered with broadcast and conference equipment under certain conditions. The need to remain in communication is a vital part of life today. We at Brähler ICS appreciate this relates to conference rooms as much as anywhere and have pursued innovative research into eliminating this audible interference.
We now offer a conference microphone which is immune to RF-interference such as GSM transmission signals from mobile phones or other wireless communication devices (WLAN, Bluetooth, UMTS). Our CDSVAN and CDS200 II systems are shipping with this new technology as standard and earlier systems can be easily upgraded

Brähler at the World Cup - everyone understood us! July 2006

With our conference technology at the World Football Championship 2006 we took care once more of a smooth communication under the different nations.
We made the simultaneous interpretation available for the press conferences in all World Football-stadiums after the respective football matches. Our Bavarian branch organized the technology for the matches in Munich and Stuttgart, while the crew in Königswinter were responsible for all football matches in North Rhine-Westphalia and additionally for Frankfurt and Kaiserslautern.
Brähler ICS appeared as subcontractor. Material of more than 1.4 tons for each stadium was required.
Each press conference room was equipped with two to four interpreter booths. In each case 200 receivers were made available thereby for the simultaneous interpretation. As particularly reliable again once proved the used infrared technique.
The staff members were surprised over the enormous security expenditure for the different matches. The safety measures were synonymous to those of large policy or economic conferences. All co-workers had to undergo personal security checks.

EU Leaders gather at Hampton Court - 27th October 2005
History was made on an unseasonably warm and sunny day at the end of October when, for the first time ever in the United Kingdom, all the heads of the enlarged EU met together in Hampton Court’s Great Hall. Having responded to an invitation to tender, Brähler ICS was selected by the UK Government to provide the 21 language channel simultaneous interpretation system. Brähler supplied their flagship CDS-VAN digital system which, unlike competing systems, has a maximum capacity of 32 uncompressed digital audio channels and runs on industry standard CAT5 computer cable.
History was made for the second time at this event due to space limitations in the Great Hall. For the first time ever at such a high level EU summit the Interpreter booths were located outside the main meeting room. Discreet “Big Brother” broadcast quality cameras were placed strategically in the Great Hall and the images relayed to an adjacent Interpreter Marquee. Brähler provided a total of 22 interpretation booths in the marquee fitted with 67 CDS-VAN digital interpreter consoles.
Simon Sainsbury -MD of Brähler’s UK operation - oversaw the entire project with a team of experienced conference technicians drawn from three different Brähler branches. “As the largest ever EU meeting of heads held outside a fixed conference centre in Brussels or Strasbourg and the first EU meeting ever to use remote interpreting we knew we were facing some new challenges. I am very proud of my team and of the performance of our outstanding CDS-VAN digital system”.
CDS-VAN is a full DSP based system which means users have a large array of digital processing devices available for immediate use.
“During rehearsals we noticed a slight delay between the camera image displayed to the interpreters and audio signal they were listening to. In seconds we were able to drop in a “virtual” audio time delay and immediately we had perfect lip sync. No other system has the scope and flexibility of our CDS-VAN”.
